Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating the incredible career of Engineer Tom Dobbins, who retired after 39 years of dedicated service to the Arlington Heights community.
Brother Dobbins’ retirement also marks a significant moment in the history of Arlington Heights Firefighters Association Local 3105. Tom was a charter member of our Local when it was established in 1987 and was the last remaining charter member still serving in our ranks.
As Tom begins his well earned retirement, we also recognize the legacy he and our fellow charter members leave behind. The strength of our Local, the benefits we have earned, and the working conditions our members enjoy today did not happen by accident. They are the result of decades of hard work, sacrifice, solidarity, and commitment from those who came before us.
Their willingness to stand together and build something for the firefighters who would follow created the foundation we continue to benefit from today. It is now our responsibility to honor that work by continuing to strengthen our Local for the generations that come after us.
Brother Dobbins, thank you for 39 years of service, brotherhood, and dedication. Congratulations on an incredible career and a well-deserved retirement.
Enjoy the next chapter, Tommy. You’ve earned it!
