Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a champion of civil rights, equality, and justice for all.
Dr. King is widely remembered for his extraordinary leadership in the civil rights movement, but he was also a powerful voice for working people and the labor movement. He spoke often about the dignity of work, fair wages, and the rights of workers to organize for safer and more equitable workplaces.
As firefighters and union members, we recognize the profound impact his advocacy had on advancing both social and economic justice. His belief that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” continues to guide and inspire the labor movement to this day.
Today we reflect, remember, and recommit ourselves to those values of service, justice, and unity.

We’ll be taking on Elgin FD in a friendly matchup before the Chicago Wolves game at Allstate Arena.
As part of the event, tickets are purchased for the Wolves game, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Project Fire Buddies. Everyone who attends will also receive a FREE Chicago Wolves knit hat (while supplies last). Family and friends are encouraged to come out and support!

Arlington Heights firefighters responded to a vehicle fire early this morning that was in close proximity to a residence. Red Shift members made a fast and coordinated stop, preventing the fire from extending to the home and avoiding what could have been a significant structure fire.
Timely response, solid tactics, and strong communication between crews made the difference.
Great work by the firefighters on scene and dispatchers who answered the call in the middle of the night!

The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.
